Another year, another solid season for the underrated Thomas Jones, below. With 1,167 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns, Jones has compiled his fifth straight 1,000-yard season and is approaching the team’s season record for rushing touchdowns, which he set with 13 last season. He has done this at age 31, when the production of most running backs is in decline. Jones faces the N.F.L.’s 23rd-ranked run defense (117.8 yards per game). And in a cold-weather, must-win game, the Jets will look to ride Jones to their fourth consecutive victory.
Number to watch
Consecutive third-down conversions thwarted by the Jets’ defense, including all 14 by Tampa Bay last week. It is also the uniform number of the All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis. GREG BISHOP
