Falcons/Ryan prove too much for Saints

Matt Ryan proved that he was the man for the job behind center as he opened up the 2014 NFL season with a 37-34 Overtime victory over a very good New Orleans Saints team.  Offensively, the Falcons were firing on all cylinders as Ryan threw for a franchise high 448 yards and three touchdowns while the running game by committee was just as successful with 181 yards from scrimmage.

“He’s played a lot of games, made a lot of plays for us,” coach Mike Smith said. “But I was really impressed with his ability to extend some plays by moving around in the pocket. And he was very, very accurate. When you have (568 yards) of total offense and 448 through the air, your quarterback is playing well.”

The Falcons next face the Cincinnati Bengals on the road.  The Bengals are coming off a road win over the Baltimore Ravens.  Get your tickets and cheer on your Atlanta Falcons!
