Falcons get Quinn a Win

New Head Coach Dan Quinn could not be happier with his team’s 26-24 victory over a much hyped Philadelphia Eagles team.

“You just trust the preparation, let it rip and have fun,” Quinn said. “That’s what we did.”

Julio Jones was the hero of the night, hauling in nine passes for 141 yards and two touchdowns.  By halftime the Falcons were riding a 20-3 lead.

The Eagles were led by new quarterback Sam Bradford, who brought his team back in the second half and pulled near even, 24-23 with just over eight minutes remaining.  The Eagles had an opportunity to take the lead on a 44-yard field goal attempt, but Cody Parker was wide right on the attempt.  The Eagles had one last opportunity to take the lead late in the fourth but safety Ricardo Allen intercepted a pass meant for Jordan Matthews.

“Our defense stepped up at the end of the game,” Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan said. “Ricardo has worked so hard.”

The Falcons will have to clean up their offense a bit but should prove a good match against the New York Giants Football Club next weekend.  Plenty of great seats and affordable tickets are still available so  be sure to get yours today and help cheer on your Atlanta Falcons!
