Falcons prep for Lions after dismal loss to Ravens

The defense of Baltimore reared its head Sunday as Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons were smothered by the Raven’s D.  Ryan was sacked five times for a loss of 42 yards.

“I think they’ve got a big menu in terms of what they do defensively,” Ryan said. “I thought we were on top of schematically what they wanted to do. Our issue came down to execution. I thought they out-executed us. They played better than we did.”

The Falcons got back to work this week preparing for the Detroit Lions who are coming off a 24-23 victory over the New Orleans Saints.  The game will take place in Wembley Stadium, in London, U.K. at 9:30 A.M. Eastern time. The game is sold out.

Falcons drop 24-10 decision to Bengals

After a 37-34 overtime win over the New Orleans Saints, head coach admitted that going after quarterback Drew Brees would not be easy given his quick foot speed and even quicker release but against the Bengals, pressure was a must.  It just didn’t happen.

“We’ve got to put more pressure on the quarterback,” Head Coach Mike Smith said. “It’s not where we want to be after the first two games. And I think it has translated into us not playing the type of defense that we want. We haven’t been able to pressure the quarterback, nor have we been able to stop the run. And those are two issues that we definitely have to address and get better at.”

They didn’t “stop the run” to the tune of 90 yards and gave up nearly 500 in the 24-10 loss but they have the chance to right the ship as they take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Sunday.  Plenty of great seats and cheap tickets still remain…Get yours today!

Falcons kicked out of playoff run

With the loss to the New Orleans Saints last week, the Falcons were mathematically eliminated from the 2013 NFL Playoffs after reaching them four out of the last five seasons.  Last season, the Falcons reached the NFC Championships.

“We are playing for the next game,” Falcons coach Mike Smith said. “We are judged weekly. Players, coaches, we’re all judged from week-to-week in a 16-game season. Our focus has to be the best that we can be next week for the Buffalo Bills.”

The Falcons meet the Buffalo Bills December 1st. Great seats and tickets are still available.
